Funny Bunny

Before Kate was born, I received this precious coat as a shower gift. It is still a little too big for her, but in honor of Easter, we took a few pictures.

Kate was very unsure of her new ears! :)

Thank you Bain and Nadia for this adorable coat! I think it will fit perfectly next winter, so the funny bunny will be back! :)

A pajama kind of a weekend

Don't let Kate's smile fool you...we have had a tough weekend. In fact, we have stayed in our pajamas for several days now!

On Saturday, my great aunt, Camilla, passed away. She suffered cardiac arrest following heart surgery earlier in the week. We will miss her so much, and we are absolutely heart broken.

To make matters worse, Kate has come down with her very first cold. We are praying it is a quick one, because at the moment it is wearing us both out!

It is also cold and rainy in Charlottesville. So for now, we will continue on in our pajamas and look forward to brighter days to come.

Our favorite new skill!

Over the last few weeks, Kate has been perfecting a new skill---putting the pacifier in her mouth all by herself! This may not sound like a big deal--but in the middle of the night it is FABULOUS! Instead of immediately screaming out for us, she is starting to search around her crib for her pacifier to soothe herself. As a result, she is sleeping with about 5 pacifiers in her crib at a time! :)

Road Trip to NC

Last week, Kate and I went to Cary, North Carolina to hang out with my sister, Caroline, for a week while my Dad and stepmother went on a cruise.

It was the first real trip that Kate and I have taken without Robby. The drive there took us about 5 hours instead of the 3 and a half that it normally takes (we had lots of pacifier stops, eating breaks, etc), but it was definitely worth the long trip!

We had a wonderful time visiting Caroline, and we also got to see my dear friend, Marie, and my grandmother in Charlotte too! A few pictures from our little adventure are below:

Kate love's her Aunt Caroline!

It was so much fun to see my friend, Marie! And even though it was past Kate's bedtime during our visit, Kate was giggling and grinning from ear to ear when Marie had her.

Caroline carried Kate on our walks and gave me (and my back!) a much needed break!!

We took a quick day trip to Charlotte to visit my grandmother, while Caroline was in school. Kate liked visiting Grandmama Donna (and eating her necklace too!)!

We will miss you, Caroline, and can't wait to see you again soon!!

Grass...what the heck is that?

Since Kate was born in September and we have had a particularly snowy/cold winter in Charlottesville, she has not gotten to be outside very much (at least not without being bundled up). Today was absolutely beautiful, so I decided to take her out for a couple of pictures. She was MUCH more interested in the grass around her than my picture taking. Below are a few pictures of Kate checking out the grass. Spring has sprung, and we couldn't be more excited!

Bounce Bounce!

Kate is loving her door bouncer! She is all smiles and giggles while she is in it, which makes us all quite fond of this new toy. Thank you Granddaddy Leggett for such a fun gift!

Kiss me, Kate!

Today we went to Turner's first birthday party! Turner is Kate's best buddy, and we have been excited about his party for weeks! :) We (the parents) put the babies on the couch to get a picture of them...and the rest is history!

Click here to see Turner and Kate's first kiss caught on video

It looks like Robby's plan to keep Kate away from boys until she is 16 is not going to work so well...sorry, Dad!

Happy Birthday, Turner! We (clearly) love you!

Six Months Old!

Today was a big day for our little family.

For starters, Kate turned six months old today! Robby and I can't believe how quickly the last six months have gone by and how much she (and we!!) have changed. We love her so much, and we are enjoying watching her personality emerge!

Robby and I also put an offer in on a new house over the weekend, and our offer was accepted today! Hooray! So, hopefully we will be moving to our new home in early June!

And last but certainly not least, my Uncle Mike (my mom's brother) and my cousin, Michael, came to C'ville to visit us and meet Kate (they live in Memphis). We had the best time catching up with them!

A few pictures from the day are below:

I was so happy to have the contract for our new house in hand!!

Kate's new trick...she is rocking (no crawling yet!)

Kate loved being held by my cousin, Michael. I love how she is grinning at him!

Kate and her Gigi

Kate and her buddy, Ivy! Look at how they are holding hands...I swear that was not staged!
