Lately

This summer is flying by, and so far, we are loving every minute of it! Kate is having a ball at the neighborhood pool (which we are so thankful for!) and loves being able to be outside so much.

This weekend was so beautiful that we were even able to go on a hike. Robby was brave and wore Kate in a huge backpack. Kate loved it...not so sure I can say the same for Robby!;)

Enjoy a few pictures of what we have been up to lately...

Ready for the pool!

Kate loves swimming with her Dada

Post pool--play session with the water table.

This water table is serious business

Kate walks her dog (named "puppy" of course) to and from the pool. I think she would take him to bed with her, if we would let her--she is crazy about him!

Hiking

Ivy loved the hike too--especially since she got to go for a swim!

Kate may like to "hike" but this child does not like to get dirty. Here she is trying to decide if she should risk sitting down! She cracks me up!

Watching Ivy swim!

"Enough with the pictures...the pool is calling!";)

Hilton Head Island

Last week, we went to Hilton Head, SC with my Dad, Amy, sisters (Merideth and Caroline), Caroline's friend, Olivia and Merideth's boyfriend, Matt. Kate loved all of the attention, and she especially loved that Charlie the puppy got to come too!

It was a gorgeous week, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. I don't think we have felt this relaxed in a long time!

Kate enjoyed the water, but she did not exactly like the sand (especially at first)! However, by the end of the week, she had gotten used to it and was even playing in it (with a shovel of course...Little Miss does not like to get her hands dirty)!

Kate also loved taking Charlie on walks, looking for "fishy stars" (star fish) at the beach, and playing with her babies that "swim" (ie can get wet) at the pool.

She also liked watching movies with Amy, especially Barney, and eating vanilla ice cream with Granddaddy!:)

Enjoy some pictures from our vacation!

We sure miss this view!

Our little family

Kate loved her time with Granddaddy and Amy!

Caroline brought one of best friends, Olivia. Olivia has been going on vacation with us as long as I can remember and feels like part of the family! Kate loved all of the attention from the girls!

Playing at the pool with Caroline!

All of the Leggett girls

Merideth showing Kate a "fishy star." Star fish and sand dollars were everywhere!

Swimming with Dada in the ocean.

Charlie was Kate's buddy for the week...after all, they have a lot in common!;)

Taking Charlie for a walk was Kate's favorite activity!

On second thought, it looks like Charlie is taking Kate on a walk!

Kate and her buddy...the whole way home she talked about Charlie!

Laughing at Charlie and Merideth running around on the beach!

Merideth and Matt--so fun to finally meet Matt!

We like blue in this family (although this looks a little bit too much like Duke blue for my taste!)! ;)

Merideth and Kate

The whole family

Ready to go to dinner!

Such a ham!

Kate loved playing by the pool...

Especially with her Dada..

and her babies!

Thank you, Gigi, for Kate's new swim baby! :)

The paparazzi was out in full force this week...so much so, that Kate would go to the end of the dock and say, "Picture! Picture!" and pose for the camera. This child is well trained!

Dada's girl!

Working in the sand is serious business...especially when you are trying not to touch it!!

That's All Folks!

Thank you, Granddaddy and Amy for such a wonderful trip!! We miss you already!!

Kissing Cousins

Last week, we had a little family goodbye party for Uncle Skip. Skip moved to Alabama to train for his new job, and then he will be in Atlanta after that. We sure will miss Uncle Skip and will have to plan lots of trips down South! :)

Kate and Adelyn had a ball together at Skip's dinner! They were running around and screaming and laughing at each other. Love that these girls have so much fun together!

Oh, and holding Braden was the highlight of Kate's week. She has never held a baby that small, and thankfully she was very careful. She slams her baby dolls around, so I was a little nervous. When it was time to give Braden back to his Mama, Kate kept saying, " More, Baby Braden." :)

Laughter, hugs and kisses abound among this little crew of cousins!

Skip with his favorite nieces

Giggle boxes

They were loving it!

Kate was laughing so hard that she had to lay down!

A hug for Braden...

And a kiss too! :)

Celebrations (Part III: Wedding Weekend)

This weekend, we ended our week of celebrations with Katie and Ben's wedding. Katie went to college with me at Carolina, and since Ben went to UNC too, they decided to get married in Chapel Hill! It was amazing to be back in Chapel Hill with all of my Carolina girls!:)

Our future little Tar Heel, Kate, enjoyed the weekend in Cary with Granddaddy, Amy, Caroline and Charlie the dog. We all had a great time, and can't wait for our next visit!

Together again!

Emily, Marie and I with Marie's parents, Cathy and Homer. Cathy and Homer were like second parents to all of us girls during our time at UNC!

Roomies

Meanwhile in Cary...Granddaddy treated Kate to an ice cream cone! This girl loves her ice cream!

Kate's playmate for the weekend, Charlie.
All the way home, Kate kept saying, "I want, I want Charlie. I love Charlie!" She is crazy about him!

YAY! Pool time!

Loving her new baby pool!

At the farewell brunch, Kate got to see her buddy, Josie, Caroline and Ryan's precious little girl.
