Happy Birthday, Mer!

Last weekend, we went to North Carolina to celebrate my little sister, Merideth's birthday.

We had a wonderful time. Kate loved seeing her grandparents and her aunts! Sorry we didn't get any pictures of the rest of the family--the paparazzi wasn't at her best this weekend!;)

Picnic and Polo

On Sunday, we enjoyed a polo match and picnic at King Family Vineyards with the whole Wood family. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great time relaxing and catching up with everyone. Kate loved being outside, playing with her cousin, Addie, and watching the horses.

Picnic on the Lawn

Over the weekend, Robby and I took Kate to UVa's Lawn to eat a picnic dinner and of course, explore! She loved it!! I have never seen a child smile so much in my life.

Before my Carolina girls start to worry that we are raising a Wahoo (Oh Horrors!:) ), at the end of the day the sky was still our favorite color blue (even in Charlottesville)! And oh, it was gorgeous!

We brought along Kate's shopping cart, you should have seen that baby girl go and go and go!

More Birthday Fun...

On your first birthday...

You woke up to both of your parents singing you happy birthday (we promise not to do that to you for every birthday (or you might not speak to us when you are a teenager), but you loved it this year)!!

You ate your favorite breakfast item (a bran muffin from Whole Foods--don't ask me why you love those so much)

Since you are not too fond of bibs and it was your birthday, we just changed your dress three times! :)

You had your picture taken several times an hour (oh yeah and lots of videos too). Yes, your mother is officially crazy!

You got to go shopping with Gigi! We are so thankful for all of Kate's grandparents who keep her so well dressed!

You played outside in the front yard and on the deck (you love to "explore").

You got to go to Barnes and Noble to do a little "shopping" of your own.

You ate dinner out with your parents and came home in time for a slice of cake. Yum!

12 Months Old!

Today Kate turned one! We had such a fun day celebrating with her! Oh my goodness, how we love this child! She can light up a room with her smile, and she certainly melts our hearts.

Since I am more than a little sentimental on this day, I thought I would take you on a little trip down memory lane. I will post more pictures of her actual birthday happenings in a future post (I only took about 200! ;))

More Birthday Fun to Come...

Birthday Party Fun!

On Sunday, we had a birthday party for Kate. We were so excited that so many of Kate's friends (AND our friends) and family could come. I was a little worried that Kate would be overwhelmed, but I think she loved every second of it!!

My friend, Anna, just started a catering company (www.nourishedbakery.com) with her sister-in-law. We were so blessed that they took care of all of the food for Kate's big day. Just wait until you see the delicious and perfectly crafted food that they prepared. DELECTABLE!

It was such a special celebration for Kate and for us too!

Thank you to all of our friends and family for supporting us throughout this year. Robby and I have had (and still have!) a lot to learn in this journey of parenthood, and we could not have done it without you!
