Our Ivy Dog

Few things amuse Kate as much as playing with our Cocker Spaniel, Ivy. I have to say that Ivy is a great sport. Now that Kate is grabbing at things, she is reaching out for Ivy. Occasionally Kate gets lucky and is able to get Ivy by the ear. At this point, "gentle" means nothing to Kate, but Ivy just licks her in response. We love our sweet puppy!

Ivy makes a great tummy time partner!

An even better pillow!

And she makes us all smile!

Under Contract!

Yep! We are as shocked as Kate looks in this picture! :) We were outgrowing our house, and we decided to put it on the market. We got an offer over the weekend, and we just signed the final contract today. So we are closing on the house in June, and we are starting to look for a new house. We will keep you posted on the progress of our search. Please keep us in your prayers during this process...we certainly need them!

Back in Business!

I have gotten a couple of inquiries about my back, and I am thrilled to report that I am feeling 100% better!! Thank you for checking on me! My back got better just in the nick of time too! We put our house on the market a few days ago, and I certainly could not get the house ready to show if I was stuck on the couch! :)

Five Months Old!

Kate is five months old! It is hard to believe how fast she is growing and how much she has changed in just the last month. She is rolling all over the place, sitting for short periods of time on her own, grabbing everything within reach, and really noticing the world around her.

I am loving my time at home with her, and we are enjoying watching her little (or not so little as the case may be) personality emerge! :)

Pain in the...back!

A few days ago, I threw out my back. I am not sure how, but I think it has something to do with carrying Kate around everywhere I go. For the last few days, Robby has been doing the bulk of the childcare, so that I can rest and hopefully recover. If it doesn't get better soon, I will be heading straight to the doctor. After all, Kate is not going to be walking anytime soon...and Robby has to go to work tomorrow!

Baby, it's cold out there!

Well, we are in the middle of the second major snow storm of the year in Charlottesville, and we are expecting anywhere from 1-2 feet of snow!! We just got our power back (thank goodness! ), and we are enjoying heat and television once again!

We have been cooped up inside since Friday morning...so we are all going a little crazy. We did manage to take a walk. Here are some pictures from the last few days.

The girls getting ready to go on a walk. Check out her little boots!

Ready to go!

My neighbors made a very strange looking duck/dragon (not sure which)...

Ivy loved it!

Kate was sound asleep by the end of the walk!

Sitting Pretty

Kate is learning to sit! She can balance for a minute or so, and then she gets tired and falls over. We have been practicing sitting in the middle of the the bed, so it doesn't hurt if she falls over. Ivy loves it because she can steal a kiss or two from Kate.

Ivy got her...Kate is not too sure what just happened!

Look at me!

Rolling...well, at least one way...

Kate has perfected the art of rolling from her back to her stomach, but the only problem is that she can't figure out how to roll back onto her back! Kate is happy when she first rolls over, and then she gets VERY mad that she is stuck that way. This is especially upsetting to Kate when she is trying to take a nap...so, I have been getting a lot of exercise, running up and down the stairs to rescue her from the "evil roll" during her naps. We have been trying to help Kate learn to roll back onto her back. I think it would be easier to teach our dog, Ivy, to roll over than it is to teach Kate! :) However, minus the rolling interruptions, the sleep training is going really well. Thank you, Sleep Lady!
