Lacing up our shoes...

On Saturday, Kate's mama is running (we use this term loosely in the Wood household) in the Women's Four Miler...

The race supports the UVA Breast Care Program, and you can help by sponsoring a runner at www.womens4miler.com.

Together we can make a difference!

Thank you! Thank you!

Exploring

Kate is developing quite an appreciation for the great outdoors. Almost every afternoon, we put on our shoes and go for a "walk" to see what there is to see. And while we don't get much past our driveway, we find lots of interesting things to look at.

Of course, a good explorer always brings along her shopping cart... not only can you use it for balance, but you can store your "must haves" in it. At this point, leaves and bark are her favorite finds...she must get that from Robby! ;)

My little explorer is growing up so fast!

All Dressed Up and Ready to...Bow!

What kind of person writes a blog post about the first time her daughter wears a hair bow?!?

The very girly mama of a baby with practically no hair, of course! :)

I have had bows since before this child was born, and we finally (barely) have enough hair for them to stay on! That is assuming Kate doesn't notice them and pull them out!

Check out those new top two front teeth!

11 months old!

Our little monkey is eleven months old today!

She is growing and changing so quickly--sometimes we feel like we can hardly keep up. On Saturday, Kate took her first unaided step! After she took the step, she promptly sat on the floor and cried. We think it really startled her! She got lots of claps though, so hopefully she will try it again soon!

Also new this month:

Kate is standing without holding onto anything.

She loves string cheese, yogurt, and rotisserie chicken.

Two of her top teeth have broken through, and two more are close behind them. With all of these teeth, she is drooling like crazy (as you will see in the pictures below). Luckily they aren't preventing her from smiling.

This girl will pose for the camera, and she loves a crowd! I think we have quite a little ham on our hands!

She is the light of our lives, and we are so grateful to be her parents!

Beach Baby

This week we went to the beach with Robby's family and the McNerneys. We had a wonderful time visiting with family and friends and relaxing!

Kate loved the water and the sand! It was so fun to see her taking it all in! She also had a great time playing with her cousin, Adelyn, and her buddy, Turner!

Thanks, Lisee and Poppy for a wonderful week!

Kate loved the sand and most of all the shovels!!

Kate and Adelyn playing in the sand (we are working on the concept of sharing...clearly it needs a little fine tuning :) )

Kate with Lisee and Poppy

Kate loved playing in her new water table. Thanks, Gigi for the awesome toy!

She had so much fun watching and learning from her buddy, Turner! This is what they did all week!

Todd has his arms full...good practice for their new addition in October!

Family picture at the beach

More fun with the water table...and yes, she is still gripping Turner's shovel!

Kate and Katherine!

I had to post one of Ivy and her friend, Emma. They love to play at the beach! Even though they aren't the stars of the show anymore...we love our girls!

This might be my favorite picture of the week...Kate half asleep and in her bed...please note that she still has a shovel in her hand!

In the water table (Yes, she is hugging her sunscreen! I guess she really is a girl after my own heart--I love my sunscreen too!)

Robby and I enjoyed a dinner out! Check out the view from the restaurant!

Enjoying playing in the blow up pool!

We love our little beach baby!
