Caroline's Christening and Kate's Birthday Continued!

On Sunday, September 9, we had Caroline's Christening, and it was the day of Kate's actual birthday (we celebrated the day before with Kate's friends and their parents at the Discovery Museum).

We woke up and went to church and then had a brunch for family and friends at our house.  It was a beautiful day to celebrate our girls.  Robby and I are so grateful for these precious daughters and for all the people in our/their lives who love us all so well!

Ready to go!

The cake

Kate was very pleased to have another cake!

And she loved that everyone sang to her again!

Our dear friends, Emily and Dave, drove from DC to celebrate with us!

Kate enjoyed opening more gifts!

Caroline slept through almost the whole party--she could sleep through just about anything!:)

So thankful for these precious ones!

Kate is Three!

Kate turned three on Sunday, September 9, and we spent the entire weekend celebrating our girl!

Kate LOVES Curious George and had been talking about a "George Party" for months. So, we had a Curious George party at the Virginia Discovery Museum for Kate and all of her friends on Saturday.  Kate had a blast!  I don't think I have ever seen her smile so much (and that is really saying something for Kate, who is almost always wearing a smile!:))

It was so much fun celebrating her with all of her friends and our families!

The Birthday girl is ready to go!

Some of Kate's friends arriving...so cute!:)

We started out with a craft, which was convenient because Curious George needed some help putting together his friends...

It turns out that this craft was a little bit difficult for the kids...

Luckily, for George (and all the parents!!), Aunt Merideth was on the scene to help with the craft!  Merideth's boyfriend, "Mr Matt", was also on hand to help!  Thank you both!!

Luckily for me, Aunt Ashley took care of sister, so that Robby and I could concentrate on Kate.

We sure love Aunt Ashley!  Thank you!!

Kate's "George Cake"
She was thrilled!  She could not wait to finish the craft so she could eat it!!

Last year, she cried when we sang "Happy Birthday", but she was so excited this year!

Cake time with Gigi!

Kate with Lisee and Poppy!  She sure loves her grandparents!

YUM!  Kate's future husband, Turner, is so helpful feeding his little brother!

I'm Three!!

After cake, everyone explored the museum!

Then we ran into this fellow who was singing songs at the museum with a group of kids.  He found out that Kate was celebrating her birthday and he (and everyone else!) sang a special birthday song for Kate!!

Kate could not believe everyone was singing for her!  Look at that face!!

Let's Dance!!

Checking out the bees with Addie!

Baby Caroline was ready for a nap!

But she held it together for her big sister!:)

After the museum, Kate spent the afternoon napping and opening presents!:)

Thanks to everyone who made her birthday so special!!

Kate's First Day of Preschool

On Wednesday, September 5, Kate had her first day of preschool, and she was SO excited!!  I am not actually sure if she was more excited about getting to go to school or wearing her backpack, but she could not wait!:)

All morning, Kate could not stop smiling....such a big girl!  I can't believe she is already in school!!

Ready to go!
Doing a jig because she was so excited!
Enough with the pictures, Mom!

Kate got a little book about making friends and all about sharing for her first day.
According to Kate, she "no yikes to share," so I figured she could use a little reinforcement!;)
I think she "yikes" it!
Ready to go!!

The first day was a success, and she was particularly impressed by snack time (a girl after my own heart)!  We love you, sweet Kate, and we are so proud of you!
