So...I would like to know who coined the phrase "sleep like a baby" and intended it to mean they slept soundly? As you can see from this video, Kate is constantly making grunting noises. Try sleeping through that. You can hear that there is a sound machine on in the background and it does not even begin to cover her noises.
Kate was born on the 9th of September, so now that it is October 11, she is one month and two days old. Even after a month, all Claire and I want to do is hold her, watch her, or play with her. She is starting to stare at people and on her one month birthday, she smiled at Claire for the first time. I came home that day and tried for hours to get her to smile at me and...nothing. The next day, Cynthia Lorenzoni brought over dinner, and she got a smile in only a couple of minutes of trying. Claire got two more smiles Saturday afternoon. Finally, Saturday night, I got a smile. All we have done all weekend is try to get her to smile at us...she probably thinks we are nuts (which is not far from the truth!!!).
Today, we went to Adelyn (My sister's baby) and Little Rob's (Steven's brother's baby) baptism. As you can imagine, the first time at church was crazy with people wanting to see Kate and hold her. With the Swine Flu going around UVA and all of the typical fall colds circulating as well, I thought Claire was going to have a heart attack every time someone touched or even looked at Kate. But, who can blame her for wanting to be protective!
Sorry for the delay in posting. Last week, Belle came running in to see my mom and knocked over a glass of water onto our laptop. We tried to dry it off, but unfortunately the computer was gone. Now, we are the proud owners of a brand new laptop, that we were not planning on buying! I have posted a few photos from the past week to catch you up on life with Kate.
