A Visit With Uncle Chip

Kate and I had a very fun day today because Uncle Chip came to visit us! We had a great time catching up with him, and we discovered that he and Kate have several things in common--one of which is their love of remote controls! Let me just say that Chip and I had many a fight over the "channel changer" back in the day! These days, Kate doesn't let the remote very far out of her sight...looks like she beat Chip and her mama at their own game! ;)

New Sounds

Kate enjoys practicing these new sounds even when she is not being prompted--especially in front of new people. Since one of her sounds is a hissing snake, I think we have caught a few strangers off guard this week...at least her kissing sound makes up for it! :)

Roll Over Beethoven...

there's a new kid in town!

Kate LOVES to "play" her new piano, particularly when there is an audience waiting and ready to clap. If we fail to applaud her in time, then you just might see Kate clap for herself! What can I say, she appreciates a good audience! ;)

And if she stands on her tip toes, Kate can even play the "big girl" piano! She has also learned to work the pedals! What talent! ;)

10 Months Old!

I can't believe our little girl is 10 months old today. It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital. Time is really flying by!

We have had so many changes this month. We moved into our new house, and between unpacking and Kate's increased mobility, we have been very busy! This month Kate learned to climb the stairs, and "dance" (which involves bouncing up and down). Kate has also been teething like crazy. She has her front four bottom teeth (we welcomed the fourth tooth a few days ago), and her four front upper teeth seem like they are going to pop through any day (please hurry!!).

This month Kate's favorites include playing her drum, reading and chewing on books, swimming at the pool, riding in her red wagon, pushing her shopping cart around the house, and getting into trouble at every turn! We wouldn't have it any other way! We love you, sweet girl!

4th of July Fun!

We celebrated the 4th of July with Robby's family, and we enjoyed Poppy's delicious ribs, time with family, fireworks, and homemade peach ice cream! Plus, Robby had a three day weekend, which Kate and I thoroughly enjoyed! Happy July! :)

Lights out and a visit with Dee and Sam!

Two weeks ago, we had a terrible thunder storm in Charlottesville, and much of the city and county lost power for a couple of days. Robby's grandparents, Dee and Sam, were already on their way to Virginia when the storm hit. Dee and Sam were happy to "camp out" in Charlottesville with no electricity, and we were thrilled to see them! Aunt Emily and Cousin Adelyn came too, so the girls had a great time playing with each other! And like all Wood Family visits, this one ended in a photo session...enjoy!

Oh baby!

Kate has just started to notice her "baby." Yesterday, I looked over and she had crawled over to her doll and was holding her hand! :) She also enjoys giving her kisses (and touching her eyeballs...but whose counting?!?) :)
