Teething...Ouch!

Poor Kate is teething, and she is having a tough time with it. Her first two teeth didn't seem to bother her too much, but this one has been a bear! She is chewing on everything in sight and is not her usual happy self!

She does not want to crawl or play, but would prefer to be held all day! So my biceps have gotten quite a workout this week! :) We have also been doing a lot of front porch swinging, rocking, walking, and just about anything that we can think of to take her mind off of it!

I am not sure who will be more excited when this tooth finally pops through, me or Kate!

Five years and counting!

Robby and I celebrated our 5th anniversary on Friday. Robby took me to a fun French restaurant in Gordonsville, Va called Pomme. Who knew that Gordonsville had good restaurants!?! I am looking forward to our next 55 years together! :)

She's on the move!

Kate is officially crawling. She has been so close for weeks. Then yesterday at music class, she took off! Maybe her best buddy, Turner, inspired her with his athletic prowess! :)

Today, she has not stopped motoring around. What a difference a day can make! Robby and I can't believe how quickly our little girl is growing up!

Let the fun begin...

This weekend we started packing up our house in preparation of our upcoming move. Kate loves all of the boxes (what a cool toy!), but Ivy is not too sure! Kate keeps trying to pull up on them and eat them-- yum! yum!

Jeepers Creepers!

Kate is working hard on learning to crawl. While she can't quite crawl yet, she can scoot around the room with the best of them! Her attempts at crawling are so cute, and I don't think it will be long now. But in the mean time, she is moving around like a little inch worm, and she is quite proud of herself!

At last, she got her prize! :)

Mmm..Mmm...Good!

Lately, Kate has been enjoying her solids! She was not too sure at first...but she is getting the hang of it now! :) We just added squash and peaches to the mix. What a big girl!

Seven Months Old!!

Tomorrow, Kate will be seven months old! It is hard for us to believe how much she has grown and changed--and how quickly these seven months have gone by!

The big news for this month is that Kate is on the verge of crawling. She will take a couple of "crawls" forward and then collapse. This is a big improvement on the backwards scooting that she has been doing. I can only imagine how much our lives are going to change once she really gets moving! She is a determined little thing--so I don't think it will be long!

Also, new this month-- Kate has started eating solids. So far, she LOVES bananas and sweet potatoes. Her least favorite food is peas...like mother, like daughter! :)

Speaking of mothers, Kate said her first word a few days ago..."Mama"!!! I am not sure if she understands that word represents me, but it certainly was a sweet sound! Robby had just gotten home from work, so he got to hear it too! Now we will start practicing, "Dada"! :)

Happy Easter!

This year, we are spending Easter in Kingsport, TN, with my Mom's family. Since we won't be here on Easter morning, Robby and I decided to give Kate her Easter basket early. As you can see from the pictures, she enjoyed being IN the basket more than anything else! :)
